ANNOTATION ON VISA - NOT VALID UNTILL DATE.

Hello,

 

My employer applied for a premium H1b renewal. My H1b visa is renewed from April 5th 2019 to April 4th 2022. My wife went to India and attended a visa interview with the new I 797. She got visa approved but there was Annotation on the visa.

Annotation:

NOT VALID UNTILL 25MAR2019

PA: MY NAME

PN: MY EMPLOYER NAME

P# Receipt Number of I 797

 

Can she enter USA before March 25th with old I 797 ? Is there any other way? Please advise.

This is really odd. I have never seen anyone getting an annotation this way. I dont think she can travel before March 25th 2019 since it i clearly mentioned on the visa. It normally has to be issue date and expiry date without any annotation regarding the start date.

Visa annotations are there for a reason.
