sims88
Hi All- I am new to this platform and have a question regarding H1b stamping. I have I797A valid till September 5th 2019 and haven't traveled to India after converting from F1 to H1B. I am planning to visit India in March . Can I travel and go for stamping with 6 months time left on I797? Thanks, Sims Link to comment
dush1511
I just got a new visa when my existing visa(& i797) was due to expire on 1st sep 19. Mine was a employer transfer case. Moreover, if you need to re enter US, its advisable to get a visa with latest status(docs) instead of inviting troubling questions at border Plan well for stamping and keep time on hand. It can easily take 15+ days to get a visa stamped. So dont stress enjoy your time here in India Link to comment
Callisto
Better to go for stamping with petition having Longer duration of expiration dt so you don't have to worry about stamping again and again .If it's unavoidable trip then you should plan well with all documents . Link to comment
gopalakrishnach
If possible get H1B visa extended and then go for longer duration visa stamping. if it really urgent and unavoidable then you can go to visa interview for h1B approval expiring in Sept 2019 but there is some risk involved...
