Sivaguru
Hi Everyone, Greetings. I am on H1B Visa and maxing out in 2 months. PERM is filed 2 months back and waiting for the results. When I am talking to my friends and colleagues, they are mentioning that extension can be filled for 1 year, as soon as I receive the PERM status as Approved(As I have only 2 more months from now). But when I was checking with my employer, they are saying that Extension can be filled only after PERM-Approved and I-140 Approved. Can any one clarify the situation here? Thanks in advance. As I am new to this forum, this might have been brought up/Discussed/Clarified before. If it is already clarified, even directing me to that forum link would be helpful. Thanks in advance. pontevecchio
PERM approval gives you no H1 extensions. PERM or I-140 pending more than one year gives you H1 extension of one year at a time. Approved I-140 gives you 3 year H1 extensions after the initial total of 6. Link to comment
