Transfer of Primary applicant EB2 India

This is a very different request. I want to transfer my primary applicant status of current I-485 pending status to my spouse. 

I am with my family in USA since 2007 and we have our I-485 (EB2-India) pending since 2012. We are all on EAD. I have been working on contract with a company from 2009, but recently I am out of job for more than 6 months. I am trying hard to get a job but without success. However, my wife who is also a Science graduate from a reputed university in India wasn't able to find a job in her field, so she took over to teaching and now currently runs a Montessori school of her own. She makes a consistently good amount of money and the whole family expenses/savings can be managed by her.  

We have some sort of family emergency back in India and I would like to go back may be in couple of months. Is there a possibility that I can transfer all my I-485 processing status and make my wife as primary applicant so she could carry forward with the same Priority date?

We are trying different options and hence thought of asking this question here.
