H1b - Cap exemption possibility

i have lived in USA since last 7 years and has been working on L1A for the whole period with employer A .
I got the h1b approved with employer B when i was in the 5th year of my L1A .
due to personal reasons i did not go for a COS and continued working on the L1A with employer A .
Now that my tenure on L1A is come to an end , i have to leave USA for 1 year and undergo the cooling period .
But i am trying to understand if i still have an option to be cap exempt after the cooling period
and use the older h1b which was approved with employer B .

Please help us to understand better on the above scenario . Thanks in advance.
