Passport scan issues

Hi all, I have a weird situation with my indian passport. Both mine and my husband's passports were renewed (like 2 months ago) and issued at CKGS Newyork.

I was travelling to India recently and American Airlines could not scan my passport and they had to manually punch in the details after they had called some helpdesk. I saw some of the letters in magnetic code smudged a little and thought that could be the problem.

But my husband also faced the same problem but his passport is very clean without any visible issues.

Has anyone faced this issue. The same thing happened with my husband.

I am just curious if this will be a problem as I have a Visa interview at the Us embassy in India soon and also will it cause any issues at the US immigration while flying back to US
