Travel while H1B petition is in progress

Hi Team, 

FYI - H1B Petition details

1. Location change amendment + extension petition- Approved. Valied From Apr 2017 TO Oct 2019. Passport stamping done on this petition.

2. LATEST Role Change amendment petition - Later filed. Approved. Valid From Jan 2018 to Oct 2018.
3. Location change amendment + extension - Filed back in May 2018. Got RFE On Sept 2018. This is in process.

Can you please clarify on below questions?

1. I need to travel back to my home country by Jan 10 as my wife is expecting a baby and travel is MUST. Is it ok to travel and come back as I have passport stamping is till Oct 2019 HOWEVER latest approved role change amendment petition is expired and extension is still in process.
2. If NOT - Is it ok if I temporarily relocate to OFFSHORE location and work from offshore until I get RFE result. If petition approved - can I relocate back to Onsite Location on approved petition?
