pvkprasad
Hi, My mother-in-law got her passport about 10 years ago. When she got the passport made her passport was issued without her last name ,so it had only her first and middle names. She came to the US to visit us a few years back and has a couple of years of validity on her 10 year multiple entry visa to the US. She has now renewed her passport and it will now have her last name also. So my question is does she need to reapply for her US visa or can she travel to the US using the passport with the existing visa (without last name) and the newly issued passport (with the last name)? Secondly she is planning to stay with us for about 5 months and travel to Canada to visit her other daughter from where she will return to India. Does she need the whole itinerary with her when she lands in the US or will it be ok if she travels on a one way ticket to US ? Thanks in advance Prasad Link to comment
pontevecchio
Using both passports should work. It may be prudent to have the Airline make a note in her booking about the matter if they want to. She will need a return ticket . If she has a Canadian visa, she can show them the return from there only if asked. Link to comment
