AvishekBose
Dear Team,Request your advice, as I am planning to schedule B2 visa interview for my in laws. The situation is, when I made the B2 visa payment last year, I was there in USA on H1B, but my extension was denied and had to come back to India, and had to postpone the B2 interview. Currently, my H1B is extended and stamped but I am yet to make a travel plan, but was wondering if I can still sponsor my In-laws B2 visa while I am here in India. Kindly advise. Thanks & Regards! JoeF
There is no sponsorship for visitor visas. Link to comment
pontevecchio
There is no concept of sponsorship for tourist visas and any such attempt may reduce the chances of getting the visa. Your travel plans are not a factor in their visa. Nothing precludes them from visiting and staying with friends or relatives or you from paying for the trip if they are not able to. Link to comment
xTDx
These is no such thing as sponsorship for visitor visas. They will have to prove their eligibility on their own and on merits. Link to comment
AvishekBose
Thank you Everyone. While submitting DS 160, there it asks for entity paying for the trip. That is what I wanted to check, if we can put my details, even though I am back in India. Also, appreciate if you could advise that, if we select 'entity paying for the tip' as self, what are the minimum criteria like bank balances, property, etc., to show. Thanks again! Link to comment
pontevecchio
You asked a simple question and you got the sermon on the mount. No criteria. Eye contact and brief appropriate answers and hopefully a friendly VO. Most are friendly. Most Visa Officers would try and facilitate tourism to their country. If you overthink a minor matter, you run the risk of complicating things. Link to comment

pontevecchio
A simple question deserves a simple answer. Pontification does not help. The fact remains that most tourist visas are granted. Link to comment
