work remotely for US client

my client agreed that I can work from india has my visa extension was denied. my concern is that - can I get salary deposited in my US account when I work from India for lets say next 4-5 months. My client doesnt have an indian office so there is no Indian company to run my payroll in India. I raised this concern and I was told that its legal to work from there and that tax returns will need to be taken care by an accountant. Please provide insights.

As far i know, this may not be possible. I heard people worked remotely in 221g cases where the decision is pending from consulate. In this scenario you check with legal attorneys!

Your payroll cannot be run in the US, however, you can contract with your US employer and get the money wired to India

This is common and should not be an issue. I've seen people working from India with the US client more than a year because their visa is under the administrative process at the consulate.

There are certainly tax issues. You likely have to pay taxes in your home country. You and your employer should discuss this with a goid CPA knowledgeable about international tax issues.
