Place of Birth different from BC & Passport

Hi,

My place of birth is different from birth certificate to passport. I requested the Indian Consulate in US (When I applied for renewal) to correct it but it wasn't. I don't want this to be an issue during the further stages of my GC. Can you suggest what should be done in my case?

Another thing is that part of my mother's name was spelled wrong in the passport than her passport name. When I asked the Indian consulate in US, they said that it can't be corrected from US. It may be a complex process to get it corrected.

 

Please suggest what should be done in both the cases. Thanks in Advance.
