Have L2 EAD Valid till 2020 Apr, do i need apply L2 EAD if applied new L2 Visa again on Feb 2019?

I'm having L2 EAD valid till April 2020 and currently working. My spouse is L1B visa holder, but his I-129 Petition valid only till Feb 2018. So we are planning to go for the new L1B Blanket application instead of an extension. 
Do i need to stop work if new L2 visa approved and apply L2 EAD again in Feb 2018.?
