i94 expiring - H1B Extension petition RFE

I have a question regarding my H1B Extension(1st time) petition:
My i94 was issued only until November 16th 2018 because my passport is expiring on 17th Nov 2018, though my I797 is valid until September 2019.
So I filed extension for my H1B and i got RFE now, for which I'm yet to respond. Due date to respond on my RFE is 14th Dec 2018.
My petition for extension has been filed before 10th September 2018(Premium processing).

I have following queries now:

1. Since my petition is in pending state, Am i eligible to stay in US after 16th Nov 2018 (My i94 last date)?
2.  In worst case scenario if my petition is not approved? Will I still have 240 days to stay in US and work until then with same client and same exployer?

1) Yes

2) No. You will have to leave country as soon as possible if your petition denied and your I94 is also expired.
