mmnv1983
Hi, My husband and I are planning to go to Canada for 1 week trip. We will be going by road to Toronto and back to US. My husband is on H1b visa and myself on H4. We have the approved I-797 until 2021 from his current employer. but dont have a visa stamp with the current employer. His employer changed in 2016. We have the expired visa stamp (expired in 2015) from the previous employer. We wanted to know if can we reenter the US with the expired visa stamp from previous employer and with the valid I-797 from the current employer? What all documents do we need to carry as precaution? Also anyone recently or in the last few months used AVR, can they share their experience? Highly appreciate your help. Thank you.. Link to comment
Tjgarla
AVR is safe. You can use it. Link to comment

ambition876
How the process work? AVR Means can i visit canada < 30 days if my visa stamping will be rejected still i can enter usa? Link to comment
pontevecchio
The only exception is going to Canada to get an US Visa. If rejected for the visa, you cannot come back and will have to go home first from Canada. AVR does not apply in this case. Link to comment

May I know your travel date? If you travel earlier than me, please do leave your experience. I will do the same after I return so that it will be useful for other folks who are planning to use AVR. Thanks, Prash Link to comment
pachhu44
I am not sure if I am allowed to post the links from other website. I found below links on another forum where few users have posted their recent experience with AVR: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/short-landing-experience-us-canada-by-road-no-h1b-stamping.556198/ https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/h1b-visa-to-expire-in-july-2018-but-have-to-enter-and-exit-canada-before-sept-2018.537607/ Link to comment
mmnv1983
Hi @Tjgarla @pontevecchio Thank you to both of you for the responses. We are traveling to Canada to visit my family and we don't intend to do visa stamping. @pachhu44 we will be traveling on thanksgiving weekend. That is from 18th nov to 24th nov. Surely I will share our AVR experience after returning back. Thanks Link to comment
