Hi,

I work as a full time for a construction company. I went to the visa interview on October 11,2018 at Chennai. The VO asked my position, petitioner, salary and he checked my LCA's(had a change in location, so one LCA was amended), I797 approval notice. He further asked me about my responsibilities and type of the project. He finally said visa is approved and told me to go through the worker's rights. He collected the passport. On October 12,2018, i got an email that passport is ready to pickup. I got 221g blue slip with no documents needed. 221g says that your visa is under administrative processing. 

 

Do i need to do anything now?

What is the average wait time for cases like this?

a. Only thing to do is "Waiting" for further update from consulate to submit your passport.

b. 1 to 3 months

I was in the same situation and it took 7 weeks.  Be patient.

I got 221g today asking me to appear for another interview without any appointment. I will take all my documents again but do I need to ready for any specific questions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I reappeared for the interview today and the officer said visa is approved and took my passport.

i am not sure how many days it is gonna take from now to get my passport back.

i have a return ticket for 9th Nov. Hopefully I will get my passport back by then.

3 to 5 days max to get passport with stamping if you selected pick up.
