H1b to H4 COS + EAD - Vermont Center

I filed for COS (H1B to H4: I - 539) + EAD (I-765) a month back. The USCIS website says the processing time for I-539 is 9-11 months and for I-765, it is 3-5 months.

1) Does Vermont center actually take 9-11 months to process I-539?
2) Will USCIS start processing my I-765 only after I-539 is approved?
3) What if I go to India, do I lose my place in the line for EAD?

Please comment even if you know the answer to any one of the three questions. thank you!

1) May be not that long but processing times are really long now.

2) They might do it together.

3) If you go to India your COS (H-1 to H-4) will be abandoned which in turn will invalidate your H-4 EAD.
