Lost Old Passport but was never used for any visa stamping

Recommended Posts

My parents are in the process of scheduling their appointment at visa application center and subsequently at the Embassy for travel visa.  Reading through the list of items , they need to bring to Embassy,

  • A printed copy of your appointment confirmation letter,
  • Your DS-160 confirmation page stamped at the VAC
  • Your current and all old passports,
  • Supporting Documents as per your visa type

Their old passports expired and were renewed in 2016. However, it seems after receiving renewed passports, old passports somehow got discarded away.

They didn't have any visa stamping etc. on their old passports, so technically this will be the first time they will be using their new passport at embassy for visa application.

Has anyone been in similar situation ? What is the resolution for it - request a copy of old passport through passport office before visa appointment or schedule appointment with the only passport they have received.

They never look at OLD/EXPIRED passport unless it has a valid visa in it. Don't need to worry, have the new passport for interview and get the stamping done on new passport. Should be fine.
