Small details:

Changed employer - Yes

Last visa stamp - March-2016

Last visa stamp valid until - Sep-2016

New Employer I-797 valid until sep-2021.

am i eligible for dropbox or not? dropbox could save ton of time on our india visit.

 

I have taken three scenarios on CGI tool - question#5 is most tricky and decision maker.  should i say YES or NO because i am not sure they are talking about my visa stamp or visa status is valid or not however question#6 confirms that they are talking about visa status not a stamp because 

QUE#6 - Was your most recent H-1B visa (temporary occupation, temporary worker or trainee) issued in India after January 1, 2008? 

** any one could have maximum 3yrs visa stamp, follow up question #6 is talking about 2008 mean 10yrs. no one could have 10yrs visa.

Can you tell me -  am i eligible for dropbox or not?

 

Scenario - 1 (dropbox permitted)

5.Is your previous H-1B visa (temporary occupation, temporary worker or trainee) still valid? - YES
6.Was your most recent H-1B visa (temporary occupation, temporary worker or trainee) issued in India after January 1, 2008? - YES

Scenario-2 (not eligible for dropbox)
5.Is your previous H-1B visa (temporary occupation, temporary worker or trainee) still valid? - NO
6.Did your previous H-1B visa (temporary occupation, temporary worker or trainee) expire within the last 12 months?
  Note:Please ensure that the 12 month validity is valid on the date of appointment/submission.

scenario-3 (dropbox permitted)
5.Is your previous H-1B visa (temporary occupation, temporary worker or trainee) still valid? - YES
6.Was your most recent H-1B visa (temporary occupation, temporary worker or trainee) issued in India after January 1, 2008? - NO
