Can i travel to USA on L2 visa when L2 extention is in progress ?

Hi I am posting this on behalf of my friend.

My Friend has Travelling question while her L2 extension is pending.

"I am on L2 that is valid till November 1st 2018 Currently in india never travelled to USA. But My Husband got stamped with renewed L1 and travelled to USA last month. But My Current L2 is not renewed.
For some reason his company did not file my L2 extension and now my I94 is expiting in November 2018 and L2 extension is filed 2 days back.
 Will i be able to travel to USA with my old L2 Visa and i have stamping of old L2 visa with less than 3 months of validity  (which is expiring on Nov  2018). can i still travel to USA with current L2 visa while renew in progress?"

Since she has  never travelled here, she is NOT in L2 status. She will enter with the existing L2 visa and her  I94 will be till her spouses L1 petition expiry. Nothing called a L2 petition. L2 status is based on the valid L1 status of the spouse.
