H1B Approved and Company Layoff

Hi,

I am currently on OPT and my H1B got approved now and it will be effective from October 1st 2018.

There is a layoff in my company and my last working day is October 12 , 2018.

1) If I find a new employer by Oct 12 and initiate the h1b transfer , do i have to submit payslips?

2) If I dont find a new employer by Oct 12, will i be out of status after that ? If so , can i still find a new employer and do h1b transfer after that?
