Thanks is advance 1. no 2. In that case your child's citizenship is not related to yours. He/she can, if he/she chooses to, apply for naturalization on his/her own as an adult with N-400, immediately upon turning 18, or at any time afterwards, assuming he/she has been a permanent resident for 5 years.
