PSA05
Hello, I'm in the US on a L1B visa and I had my I-140 aproved under EB1 category a few months ago. My I-485 is pending filing, and I was laid off today without any specific benefits esplainers or such kind of support from the company. I could not find anything specific as to what I should do in the interim on the USCIS website. Could someone help guide me on if I should be filing for COS from L1 to B1/ B2 or if I can still change jobs in this situation? Appreciate your help. Link to comment
Provence
Attempting to change status to b1b2 is a horrible idea unless you plan on being an actual tourist (and exit the country thereafter). Frivolous COS to b2 attempts only serve to clog the already backlogged USCIS. Not to mention the slim odds in the current US era. Best to exit the US if no other alternatives, and go for an immigrant visa in consular processing in your country once priority date is current. Link to comment
