I-140 approved - Change to a new job with same employer within 180 days of approval

Hi,

My I-140 was approved 3 months back (in May 2018). Can I switch to a new job within the same team, with the same employer and still keep my original priority date?

My current job title is Senior Software Engineer. The new role will have a different title but will have all responsibilities of my current role + some additional duties.

Can you please let me know

1. If I can keep my original PERM priority date.
2. If I need to request my employer to file a new I-140 for the job change.

I140 is for a future position. So i guess you should be fine.You may need H1b amendment though
