Travelling via Frankfurt with expired H1B

Hi,

I'm an Indian passport holder with expired USA H1B visa and have valid H1B extension approval documents. I've booked a ticket for my trip to India from Houston via Frankfurt. Please let me know if I need to get any transit visa for my trip.

If I am not wrong, you will not be able to fly via Europe (except Amsterdam) with an expired US visa. You have to fly via Arab countries. They will ask for a valid US visa if you are traveling from US. You might need a transit visa (even if you are not switching countries in Europe). 

Call the airlines and confirm.

While booking the international flight, agent should tell you that for EUROPE countries you should have a valid us visa to fly in & out.

USA - Not required because you are leaving it

Germany - Not required because you are traveling through and NOT coming out of international zone

India - Not required because of passport holder

you will need to check with the airlines regarding this.
