Is it necessary to report reckless driving conviction in DS-160 form while H1b stamping?

Hi All,

I recently got a reckless driving ticket in Virginia. The judge convicted me for reckless driving, I was asked to pay fine - no license suspension, no arrest. I’m on opt now, I don’t know whether to report this while H1b stamping in DS -160 in the field ‘Have you ever been arrested or convicted . . . ’. 

Also, as I recently got the conviction, I still have chance to appeal it in the court and try another time and hope for betterment (which may or may not happen) of the result. Is it worthy to appeal? 

Please help me with this.

You should report it. It should have no adverse consequences unless it was alcohol-related (e.g. if the original charge was DUI).

Will this conviction has any effects on immigration at the port of entry to US? I have plans to travel to India.

Big YES. you will have to report the arrest and conviction in DS-160.
