td17
Hi, I am planning to travel to India with an approved H1b extension till 08/2021 with same employer and end client (same location). Giving a background on my case soo far: I first came to USA on F1 visa where I received a 221G in (2012) Then after my conversion from F1 to H1b, my H1b stamping was also after receiving a 221g for end client verification which took 7 weeks to process (in 2016) So, I would like to know what are my chances to get stamping for extension without a 221g and if not what could be the processing time? Also, would anyone recommend to travel as in my case? Thanks in advance! Awaiting response. Link to comment
Provence
No one on this or any other forum could predict what could happen during the visa process. 221Gs have become more prevalent of late, with a crackdown on fraudulent practices among Indian H1B attempts and shady US employers. Where you will end up depends, for the most part, on the strength of your verifiable documents/resume relative to the H1b job. Your response to the previous 221Gs would also be reviewed as COs make their decision. Link to comment
td17
Thanks, for the reply. But do you think dropbox submission(Delhi consulate) makes a difference? Or one should be prepared for a longer stay than decided when going for visa stamping? Link to comment
Callisto
does your past h1b stamp has Annotation like "Clearence Received" after client Verification was done? Link to comment
