Job change after Green Card approval

Hey Guys

I got my GC application approved in EB2 couple of weeks back and now I have a good job offer to switch in a similar line of work as my current job. Is there any harm/impact/issue with the job switch.

No. Just keep your head down and don't get into any trouble with law.

Maybe. Changing jobs shortly after getting the GC can raise suspicions of fraud. Make sure tou keep all documentation related to the new jib, like how and when the contact with the company was initiated.

Ideally speaking, you should work a good bit of time for an employer that expended significant resources and time to get you your permanent residency.  I'd say you owe them more than a few weeks.

There is no prohibition to taking up a job with better career prospects or higher salary at any time. The thing is to get the process documented and backed up by a lawyers guidance. In Trump's world anything is possible. As regards the previous post, that is not the reality in a world where they can fire you at any time and you can resign at any time subject to contractual obligations.
