Fax
Hi, I was terminated in May by my employer. I'm on H1b status. I have spoken to several lawyers- few of them have said I can stay in the US for 60 days others suggested that I can for 180 days and secure an employment. The only condition is after 60 days if my new employer files for my H1B, I will have to undergo consular processing and will have to leave the country for stamping. I'm confused, can I stay in the US legally for 60 days or for 180 days? My H1b is valid till 2020. Please help. Link to comment

Pathy
Normally you have the 60-day grace period following the end of your employment. Link to comment
