How long can I be out of the country and I can come back on H1B Visa

Hello,

I am on my 7th year H-1B visa with I-140 approved in August 2016 and my current H-1B valid until Sep 2020.

My question is, if I can move out of the country and wants to come back after 3 or 4 years, can I still apply the H-1B with an employer without lottery system or do I have to come in with the lottery again?

 

Anyone know how this works??
