Interview Waiver when principal applicant is eligible while not spouse

Here is my situation please help clarify 

Am the principal applicant on h1b my visa stamp expired on Feb 5th 2018 and my current I797 is valid till Sep 5th 2020 - ELIGIBLE for INTERVIEW WAIVER and can avail DROP BOX while visiting india

My spouse is on H4 her visa stamp expired on April 5th 2017 and her current I797 is valid till Sep 5th 2020

Please help me understand on if my spouse alone needs to go to interview while i can use drop box? or since am the principal applicant both can use drop box ?

she has to attend the interview..

otoh, don’t be surprised if they call you in for interview too, it has become a trend now..
