Applying F1 in Dec 2018 and H4 visa is not stamped

Hi,

I am enrolling in Fall-2018 session. My H4 visa is getting expired in July 2018. I have already filed an extension.

I am planning to go to India in Dec 2018 to get F1 visa as I want to continue my studies on F1. I have the following questions:

1. Can I get the F1 visa on an expired H4 visa?

2. Is it safe to get H4 stamped before F1? In case F1 got rejected? Or can I do it after also in case I need H4 to get back to the USA?

3. How much time does it take for F1 to get stamped?

Please help!!!!

1. These have no connection

2. The chances of getting the F1 visa stamped are a function of the credibility of the college. Better the college better your chances of getting the F1 visa. Apply for the F1 visa and if denied get a H4 visa to return.

3. A couple of days after getting the visa approved at the interview.
