H1 to H4 COS long processing times. Recapture lapsed H1B period.

I have 1 year left on H1B out of 6 years. Am i going to loose my remaining H1B period  due to long H1 to H4 COS processing times( Current estimates are 5- 12 months processing times) ?

The date of your h4 COS receipt by EAD, your h1b clock stops. so no worries.

That assumes that the OP stops working once the COS receipt arrives.

It is possible to continue working on the H1 until the COS to His approved. In this CAS, the H1 clock would of course continue.

The clock stops if the person is no longer in H1 status, either by stopping working when the person gets the COS receipt or when the COS is approved.
