asim
Hello, My scenario is, I'm a Canadian citizen, was working on TN status in USA. I got H1b and changed my status from TN to H1b. However i never left USA. I plan to travel to India for 3 weeks. My question is, do i need to get a Visa stamped on Canadian passport to enter USA ? Do my dependents who are H4 and who are also Canadian citizens, need visa stamped on Canadian passports ? If i dont need visa. What documents do i need to present to immigration officers at port of entry ? Are indian immigration officers are aware of this exemption and will they allow me to board the plan without a visa ? Please answer. Thanks Link to comment
Tjgarla
YEs you will need a H1B and H4 visa stamped on your passport to enter in USA. Link to comment
vinodhts
If you are a Canadian Citizen you dont need stamping , you can carry the I 797 and go to the border. In fact they will deny any appointment to US embassy for stamping. Feel free to enjoy the Canadian Citizenship benefits. You need I 94 though especially if you are applying for GC in USA , otherwise dont worry if you travel by road. sometimes they ask you for that otherwise they let you in ! Link to comment
toobrown
as one of the member stated, you just tale your H1B approval and on the POE they will stamp you. No need to book appointment etc. My wife is a canadian citizen and we always go to the canadian border and come back immediately, takes less than 5 minutes. Good luck Link to comment
