Visa stamping question

My current visa is valid  till aug 20 2018 and my extension was approved last week from aug 21 2018 to 2021. My qtn is if I go for July stamping to India and Hoping all go well with stamping , will they give stamping till 2021 or just a month  because  my new extension is valid from aug 21 ? Or should I wait till my old visa expires and plan after August 21?

First your current H1B stamp will be invalidated with "Cancelled without prejudice" seal. Your new visa stamp, if issued will be valid till Aug 2021. Your new visa stamp will show both I-797 numbers [one that is valid till Aug 2018 and the next line with the one valid till Aug 2021].

Thanks . In my passport my visa  stamping was valid till August 2015.  I had my visa extended from aug 2015 - aug 2018 and I didn’t go for stamping from 2015-2018 and now my company applied extension and got extension till 2021. The confusion for me new i797c says it’s valid from aug212018- aug20, 2021. I’m planning to go for stamping around July and that why I’m confused will they just give for a month till aug 2018 or 3 yrs based on new approval . There was a Question on ds160 form - when im plannning to come back USA ?  I mentioned July 31 2018 . May be I should change it to aug 30 2018?

When you go for stamping, make sure you fill in new I-797 details in DS-160. If you do that you will get visa till Aug 2021. Visa stamp always has issued date on it. It does not have a start date. So it is valid from the date it is issued. Also make sure your passport is valid beyind Aug 2021 or else you will get I-94 only till passport expiry.
