H1B Visa Transfer validity after I94

Hi,

I am approaching 5 yer completion, my current employer not going to start my GC initiation. I got a offer for some employer, they are ready to initiate GC immediately but the catch here is they want me to join with "Receipt". Is this advisable to join with Receipt? they are going to file the transfer in regular process.

Also, as my current VISA /I94 will be expired in coming sep-2018 , Do my extension/Transfer needs to be approved before my current Visa got expired? or my I94 be will be extended (I can continue working) as per the law?

Please advise.

Based on a pending H1 petition with the new employer, you will have 240 days for them to decide while you can keep working.
