Testusa
Posting for a friend: He was arrested as a misunderstanding and case was dismissed with no charge immediately. He is on GC. Everytime he enters the US ..he is called aside and has to submit the documents of dismissal. Last three times he entered he was asked. 1) will the fingerprints remain in the system forever? Or will naturalization take care of deleting them when he becomes a citizen? 2) what can he do to not be checked Everytime he enters the US. How does he deal with this situation and not be called aside Everytime and have those fingerprints deleted from the immigration system? Link to comment
pontevecchio
What was he arrested for by mistake? In any case he should talk to a lawyer. If he becomes a citizen this will cease. Link to comment
Testusa
Hello thanks! Yes it was a misunderstanding and before any clarification they arrested him and the case got dismissed immidiately. And he went through the lawyer as well to get the case sealed and they even said the immigration should not stop him. Is there no way to get rid of the fingerprints? Or becoming a citizen the only way the fingerprints will be deleted ? Link to comment
hindi_eng
Fingerprint will never be deleted for immigration matters. Record can be expunged for job and any other background check. But immigration still sees the charges. And looks like his initial charge was ugly and raise concerns that’s why he get interrogated. Being citizen may help, but still he may need to go through the same interrogation Link to comment
