Soham190 Posted May 16, 2018 Report Share Posted May 16, 2018 My application for a new H1b was sent by April 3rd and I'm from New Jersey. What is an average time that I can get a response from USCIS? I don't have a receipt, or anything yet. This is my first time applying so I don't have any frame of reference. Secondly, I am on OPT currently working with the firm I have applied for H1b with: My OPT work date is 30th of June but If I haven't received a response from USCIS by then, do I have to stop working here? If not, and I get a rejection, do I instantly stop working and leave the country? I'm not sure how to proceed and plan further as I have no idea what's legally allowed here. Link to comment
