Meghdoot Posted May 12, 2018 Report Share Posted May 12, 2018 My wife received I-485 RFE that calls for to produce a name change 'supporting' document. Her first name before marriage is not same as after marriage. The marriage certificate bears her maiden name (name before marriage). During marriage, her first, middle and last name changed. So far we were holding good with an affidavit done back in India. The same affidavit was provided to USCIS for the last RFE. However, USCIS sent another RFE for supporting the name change with a certificate/document originated by Government body or Court. We do have just a self-proclaimed notorized affidavit that both the names before and after marriage belong to the same person. Please advise how to get a certificate/document originated by Government body or Court in India or address this RFE. Link to comment
