I 94 expired but I 797 valid till sep 2018

I have my I-797  valid till sep 2018. 

I went to India in Jan 2017 and since my passport was expiry date was march 2017. I got my I-94 admit date till march 2017. 

I didn't notice this till now since I-94's are online now. I got my passport renewed.

But its time for h1b extension and I sent the documents to lawyer and i found that my I94 expired in march 2017.

What should i do now. Can someone please suggest because my i94 expired for more than 365 days

I was in a similar situation. I went to San Diego border and got it corrected there.

How is your situation now?

Can you please suggest how did you get your's corrected at San Diego border? I am almost in the same situation.
