International travel while new H1 transfer just initiated

Hi,

I, work on H1b, got laid off in the second week of April. Recently i have received the offer letter from my new employer and they are filing H1 transfer for me in next week. The issue is that i have to travel out of US for 2 weeks starting at the end of next week. I can not avoid this travel since it is an emergency. Would there be any issue at the port of entry when i will come back to US. My visa is valid until the end of the year & I-797 petition is also valid until the end of the year. What can i do in this case. Would it be enough if i can request attorney to mail the receipt to me so i have  a copy of same as a proof that H1 transfer is already initiated in my case. Please provide expert comments. I would appreciate all the help.
