Kalyan Polisetty
Hi, I currently have approved EB2 I-140 with my current employer. It has been more that six months that EB2 I-140 has been approved. My current priority date is August 2010. And my 9 years H1B Visa will complete in September 2018. The occupation title on PERM applied by current employer is "Database Administrators". I am planning to apply for "Big data engineer" with a different company. So, if I decide to pursue the "Big data engineer" position with another I will have to port my priority date and as part of that I understand that I have redo the whole GC process again with new company. Long story short: I would like to know if I go ahead with new position will I have any issues porting my priority date which is August 2010 to new company because of different job titles but partly matches because of "Data" in each of them. Hope my questions is clear. Thanks, Kalyan Link to comment
nmurthy
you should be able to port your priority date no matter what your new title is. As long as you are doing the GC all over (and that too in a new company) it doesnt matter if your old title matches with new title or not. Link to comment
Kalyan Polisetty
I am not sure if it is real but heard that if job titles change it might create problem with GC processing because we restart and might not get approved. So, just wanted to be sure. Link to comment
