I140 Recapturing Priority date

Hi,

I have the approved I140 with priority date of 2011 from my old employer and after moving to my employer in 2016, I applied for gc process again and got my I140 approved. This new I140 approval has 2017 priority date even though our employer has mentioned it clearly in the cover letter asking USCIS to recapture old priority date and attached old I140 along with the petition. I know that my old I140 is not revoked for sure. 

I am curious on what are my options for my employer. Would you know how long will it take if sent a mail to USCIS asking for explanation.

Does your new approved I140 have the same "A number" as the previous approved I140 ?

The "A number" is just above the beneficiary's name.
