Travelling to India while H1b transfer is in process

Hi,

I'm currently employed with company A and my H1b is valid till August 2018. I'm planning to switch jobs and new employer B is about to start H1b transfer process for me now. Once employer B starts the transfer process and while it is in progress, can i go to India on vacation when I'm still working with employer A? If yes, what happens if I get a RFE when I'm in India.

If you leave US while H1b petition is in process, the H1b petition will be nullified. H1b transfer is nothing but H1b extension with different employer. At the time of H1b extension, if they don't find you in US, they don't find anything to extend the H1b transfer nullifies. This holds true for any kind of COS, extensions.
