JoeF
A US citizen has to be at least 21 before the citizen can sponsor his or her parents. Link to comment

A US citizen 21 or older can sponsor his or her parents for a Green card. Nobody can sponsor citizenship. There is no quota for sponsoring a GC for parents (at least at this point, the current President doesn't quite like that...) Once a person has been a Permanent Resident for 5 years, plus some other requirements, that person can apply for citizenship. Link to comment

JoeF
Nobody can know what the current President will do. Link to comment
pontevecchio
At least till November. The winds of change seem to be blowing strongly now and hopefully will be a hurricane in November and if so you will see the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde side of this mysterious president of ours. I think the OP is not clear that US Citizens can sponsor their parents and this has always been so. So his last question is enigmatic. Link to comment
Provence
OP, how old is your son? Your son cannot sponsor you for permanent residency (gc) until he (your son) is an adult. That means your son must be 21+ years old to sponsor you for a green card; not before then. Link to comment
rajkumar.t08
@Provence hey is that rule still there... Some say that rule is removed... if I apply when he is 21 how many years will it take for that Link to comment
