Visitor Visa for my brother in law family

I am a green card holder. I am planning to sponsor visitor visa to my brother in law family to visit me. He has strong business in india. 

My questions are:

Can i sponsor visitor visa to them? 
Will my permanent residency affects their visa getting rejected? 
Can my brother in law self sponsor visitor visa after i send invite? 
How long he can get visitor visa? 

Which is safe. Myself sponsoring or my brother in law self sponsoring. Please advise.

There is no sponsorship for visitor visas.. You may pay for the trip, but that's not sponsoring.

They have to qualify on their own. Strong ties to their home country is what matters, not who pays for the trip.
