friscoguy
Friends , I got a citation for Leaving a child in the vehicle (for over 5 mins) . Even though there was no danger to my child (as i could see him from the store that evening) i was given a class c misdemeanor ticket . I realized later this was against the law and how stupid i was since the cop was standing right next to me . I got a deferred disposition and now after the probation the case was dismissed (no arrest , no finger print ).Paid fine and the municipal court told me that this is dismissed and file shredded . I realize i have to answer yes to the DS-160 arrest question now . Have you ever been arrested or convicted for any offense or crime, even though subject of a pardon, amnesty, or other similar action? Even thought i wasn't arrested i understand that deferred disposition is a pardon. Would this impact my visa stamping in anyway ? I will be talking to an immigration lawyer tomorrow but i was curious to know if there is someone here who has seen this kind of an offense here ? Thanks Link to comment
natan111
If you paid the fine you were convicted for immigration purposes. But it's not a big deal. You will explain your "yes" answer just as you presented the narrative here. Try to get any kind of disposition document from the court, even if it's only a statement of "no record". You'll be fine.
