Arrival Date Not Records in I-94 (Cruise trip)

We went on a 3 day cruise to Mexico in November, 2017. We departed from the port on 11/9/2017, and that date is recorded and shown in the travel history. We arrived back to US at the same port on 11/12/2017 but this date is not shown on the travel history. I-94 doesn't show this new arrival date. I-94 still shows our previous entry date into US as arrival date.

 

I need to apply for H1 B extension. Would this be an issue? How can I correct this issue.

It is not an issue. Did you go through CBP while coming back? It is most likely that Automatic Visa Revalidation applied here.

I contacted the Deferred Inspections department in Los Angeles over the phone, and they mentioned that a new I-94 would be issued only if one stays in Mexico or Canada for more than 30 days.

Since I stayed in Mexico only for a day, it was not considered a meaningful departure and hence a new I-94 was not issued.

It is the case that you used AVR. This is not an imposition by any means though most choose this to return. If you wanted a new I94 you could have one for 12 USD.

I am also in same situation and my Arrival date is not recorded in I94 after my cruise trip to Mexico. Can you please advise how can we correct this issue? Does CBP issues new I94? if yes then what is the procedure?
