looking back at forum it took few weeks.

Thank you! Hope you can hear about your case soon too. DOS showed favorable recommendation on September 18th and I got the letter from DOS on 21th. And I received another letter (I-797) from USCIS today. Good luck with your case bro!

Hey guys, thank you for this thread, very helpful.

In September 2017 I applied for 612 j-1 hardships.

October 25th 2018, USCIS has forwarded forms 612 and 613 to the DOS.

Since then, nothing from the DOS.

Should I contact my senator or wait? Thank you!

Hi J1TIRED,

What did they ask for in your RFE?

I am submitting my waiver application next week.  Just wondering what they are usually send out in the RFE.  Maybe I can save some processing time by sending them what they will be looking for in the RFE now with my application.  Thank you very much.

Every case is different. Every RFE is different. It depends on your case and your hardships. That being said, the RFE would be something such as a request for additional 'updated' documents. Or request for more evidence to be provided to the USCIS. They'll give you typically 90 days to prepare and mail your RFE package.

Forget about it now, our luck is very bad. The whole government is shut down and not working. I wonder if the DOS Hardships Review Division are not working too. Does anyone know?

Hi Patience17,

I finally received favorable recommendation from DOS after 4 months. How long did it take for you to get the approval notice after DOS sent their recommendation to USCIS?

thanks,

Hello all!

I am about to apply for Hardship Waiver, I need help with the timeline, please.

My last DS2019 will be issued on January 2020, and as you all may know, I cannot get approved before that date or ECFMG won't give me that last DS2019.

So basically I need help with the timeline, to try to time it the best I can, please and thank you
