Patience Med how do I contact senator / congressmen ! Where to start and set this up. My application is stuck with dos from past 6 months .

Power, there are 2 senators in every state and there are many congressman/woman.

You can contact either, they both will help you. Based on my research and talking to ppl, they say congressmen have more experience in dealing with immigration.

If you decide to go with senators, this is how you must proceed :

1. Google who is the senator for your state. Go to their website and click contact.

2. Enter your details and briefly explain your current situation

3. Sign a waiver form for them to contact DOS on your behalf.

4. Your case will be assigned to a caseworker who will email DOS on your behalf

if you choose to contact congressman/woman

1. Google the congressman/women in your region.

2. Select the one who is in charge of the region you live in.

3. Follow the above steps as explained under senator

Remember, you can also visit their office and request to talk to immigration department. They have assigned ppl for that.

Hope this helps

My I-612 has been received by USCIS  on September 27, 2017. It's been almost 8 months that I haven't received any response on my case. I requested expedition through congressman but rejected.

Is there anyone with similar situation?

Does anyone know how long it takes for USCIS to decide on I-612 hardship waiver?

thanks

DOS received my I-612, I-613 on April 16th, 2018.

I filed my case at USCIS on May 3rd, 2017.

Now my status at DOS is “ Pending”

I am applying a Hardship waiver,

I was government funded.

How long it takes?

Anybody could give me some ideas?

Thanks!

got favorable recommendation!

Hi Power,

Congrats!

What was your waiver type (hardship or prosecution)?

I submitted my I-612 to USCIS 8 months ago and still no feedback. How long does this take to get response from USCIS?

Can you please share your timeline since you submitted your I-612 to USCIS?

Thanks

Hi patience med ! Can u apply for h1b staying here . Are u planning to go back to home country ? . Can u open a thread or we can stay in touch on the post that I started steps after favorable recs. Lawyers are good but based on forum I see so many times they make mistakes which delays stuff and really don’t want to take any chance

hardship - it’s was based in hardship
