cross chargeability for spouse with green card

Hi, 

My I-140 got approved recently through employer based application (India category).  My spouse is on green card, received before we got married.  His category, though, is rest of the world.  I'm wondering if cross chargeability applies in this case, so I could file my I-485 under his country category which is current as of now. Or is the best bet just to wait until the family based application becomes current.
